APRIL’S SCRIPTURE MEMORIZATION

Why do we read of a God who parted seas, made time stand still, and offered His Son to this world through a virgin, yet grow worried and anxious at so much of life? Is it because we are far removed from those “might acts” of God? Or are we too distracted to observe God’s activity in the world today?

I am more and more convinced that the Devil’s most effective tool is blurring who God is today. By simply dulling our sensitivity to God’s power and participation in our lives and in the world around us, he limits us and our faith. Just as those in Mark 8, who saw thousands fed with very little by the power of God and then in another context were bothered that they had no bread, we have trouble connecting dots. Surely the same God who fed the thousands would also feed them…AND care for us!

God bless as you focus on Him this month!

For April:

And Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why are you discussing the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear? And do you not remember? (Mark 8:17-18 ESV)
