PRAYER REQUESTS
Gail Bigler is to undergo surgery on her neck on Sept. 3. Ruth Ann Miller, Nancy Miller’s sister, is now bedfast and on a feeding tube due to Parkinson’s Disease. Her husband, Dean, who conducted a special series of services here a few years ago, had to resign his preaching responsibilities effective last Sunday to care for her.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
It’s HERE! Vacation Bible School 2013 begins tomorrow evening. The classrooms are all ready, the invitations continue to be extended, a large number of volunteers have been working many hours, the Lord’s help has been requested…and we’re almost ready to start. We hope you and your family will be here every evening this week.
The Monday through Thursday classes will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. with a variety of activities each evening. Our Closing Program & Open House will be Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. for which we will need drinks and finger foods for refreshments.
Post Cards with all the relevant information are still available on the table in the foyer for you to use in inviting others to come with you.
All the Team Leaders will meet in the front of the auditorium following this morning’s service.
The costumes can be picked up from the rack outside Everett’s office.
Cookies are needed each evening for the adult class. Please sign the list on the bulletin board if you can help.
We will need help this coming Saturday morning to remove the construction materials and return them to the storage building. Due to the Sam Mumley 5K/Walk being run the same morning, we will meet at 10:00 a.m.
WEDNESDAY CLASSES
Due to VBS, there will be no regular classes this coming Wednesday. The Adult series “Hard Sayings and Neglected Commands of Jesus” will resume on Aug. 14 with Dennie Green leading the discussion.
CAMP CONCERN
Camp Concern 2013 is now history. Parents, don’t forget…if your child won any awards at any church camp this summer, we want to recognize them in the August 18th bulletin. Please write their name, the camp’s name and week in which they participated and award(s) they won and give it to Everett or Joyce by next Sunday, Aug. 11.
MONTHLY FELLOWSHIP
Due to preparations being made for VBS, the Monthly Fellowship for August will be held in conjunction with the one for September.
SHEPHERDS-DEACONS-PREACHERS MEETING
The bi-monthly meeting of our shepherds, deacons and preachers will be next Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in the MP Room.
WORSHIP AT RESERVOIR ROAD
We are planning to worship at the Reservoir Road property again on Sunday evening, August 18. We will also have a wiener roast. The rain date will be August 25. Hopefully we will have some good weather.
PICTORIAL DIRECTORY
August 25th is the deadline for having your family’s photograph taken for our new Pictorial Church Directory. If you haven’t had your picture yet, please get with Brad Schrum, Joyce Slatt or Kay Sowinski following today’s service. Please help us make the new directory as complete as possible to help us become better acquainted with each other as well as help future members become more quickly acquainted with us.
IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY
Did you know that you can be a Christian involved in a church without being a member of any denomination? You can be just a Christian. In next week’s sermon, “Just A Christian,” Phil Sanders will discuss how this is possible. The program is on every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. on WTRF-TV, Ch. 7.
