PRAYER CONCERNS

Kevin Kalany tentatively will be admitted to the hospital on May 17 for his May 25th bone marrow transplant. He will undergo a bone marrow biopsy and re-testing tomorrow in Morgantown. Jeff Bigler is to undergo gall bladder surgery tomorrow in OVMC.  Don Zink  will begin a series of radiation treatments as a precautionary measure in about 3 weeks.

Gregg Voscavitch is  to consult with a plastic surgeon soon regarding his melanoma. Ray Ramsay’s arm is now in a portable cast. Jim Bass, Mary’s son, has been diagnosed with gastritis and pancreatitis.

Ruth Satterfield, the mother of Terrie Gaston & Sally McDiffitt, is doing very well following recent gall bladder surgery. Sally Hickenbottom, one of our former members, is slowly improving from her recent health problems. Curtis Blake, Darlene Straub’s father and Mel Hannan’s father-in-law, has been diagnosed with extensive and aggressive cancer.  Joe Santini, Heather’s husband, was to undergo back surgery last Wednesday in Cleveland Clinic. Don Gallaher, the father of one of Carol Kovachic’s co-workers, has lung cancer. Wanda Dunham, Becky Groves’ mother, is in serious condition in Trinity West Hospital in Steubenville.

It was good to have Linda Denney back with us last week following an extended illness.

Let’s continue our prayers for Evelyn Barker, Gail Bigler, Brandon Brown (15-year old acquaintance of Carol Kovachic), Paula Farber, Ashley Gaston, Shelli Glasgow, Faith Hilton (Bunky Loy’s granddaughter), Nancy Hudson, Zach Jones (8th Grader at Union Local, cancer), Dot Saunders Genevieve Saunders (Dot’s mother-in-law), Kay Sowinski, Frank Sponhaltz, Brenda Stillion (Angel Baker’s cousin, cancer), Lauren Symanek (Wayne Patton’s niece), Mike & Pam Tribbie and Jill Zatezalo

Please pray for our military personnel …Issac Gaston, Nathan Rodak (Bill & Joan’s grandson), Scottie Smith, Joe Stenger and Dylan Usenick.

 

SYMPATHY
We extend our deepest sympathy to Donna Noling, Karen Summers and their families in last Wednesday’s death of their mother and our sister-in-Christ, Arla Johnson.  A Memorial Dinner was held in her memory yesterday.

Our genuine sympathy is extended to Becky Groves who frequently worships with us in last Wednesday’s death of her father, Charles Dunham.  Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.

BRING-A-FRIEND DAY

We hope you have already invited someone to come with you on “Bring-A-Friend-Day” on May 22.  We want it to be a great day for the Lord as our friends join in worshipping Him with us.

WEDDING INVITATION

The church family is invited to join in the celebration as Leslie Butterworth Twarog and Paul Huffman are united in marriage this coming Saturday, May 14, at 2:00 here at the church building.  They will be honored with a Money-Tree during the June 5th Monthly Fellowship.  If you would like to contribute toward the “Tree,” please give your money to Gail Bigler or Amy Games by Wednesday, June 1.

GRADUATING SENIORS

During the June 5th Sunday morning worship service, we will honor the following members of the St.C. church family who will be graduating from High School this Spring: Cameron Baker (Bridgeport), Kyle Digiandomenico (Bridgeport), Adam Sambuco (St.C.), Rebecca Santini (JVS) and Jacob Zink (St.C.).  Please notify Everett or Joyce if you know of any others from our local church family who will be graduating this year.  Also let us know of any who are graduating from College or a Technical School this spring as well.   Please write their name, Degree and school on a card and give it to Everett or Joyce.

We congratulate Hunter Hoffman on his graduation from Wheeling Jesuit University this coming Saturday, May 14.  Following graduation, he will return to his home in Belleville, WV. We have enjoyed his serving alongside us for the past couple of years while he attended college and we pray for his future as he continues serving the Lord.

VBS PLANNING SESSION

The next planning session for VBS will be Sunday, May 22, at 4:30 in the MP Room.
Everyone is invited to attend to provide input into this summer’s program.

 

CONGRATULATIONS

We congratulate Carolyn Hoffman on her retirement from Belmont Community Hospital this past Friday after a 33-year career.

We congratulate Becky Bigler on her recent engagement to Kevin Inman of Parkersburg, WV.  A wedding is being planned for next Spring.

 

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

All the members of the St.C. church family are encouraged to attend the Quarterly Congregational Meeting following next Sunday evening’s worship service.

MINISTRY OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Teams 2,3&5 will lead our Ministry of Encouragement for the next two weeks.

 

FOOD FOR POTTER CHILDREN’S HOME

The deadline for bringing the items for the children at Potter Children’s Home in Bowling Green, KY,  is May 22. They have requested that we donate  Onion Soup Mix, Powdered Sugar and Ritz Crackers. They also need money for fresh foods.   Give any cash to Everett by the deadline.

Ryan Hatcher’s May 10th Birthday was inadvertently omitted from this month’s calendar.

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY

In next week’s lesson, “The Lord’s Supper,” the weekly observance, will be the focus of the   program’s  speaker, Phil Sanders. The broadcast can be seen locally every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. on WTRF-TV, ch. 7.
