PRAYER CONCERNS

Bill Kopyar is scheduled for cataract surgery on both eyes tomorrow.  Amanda Schrum’s endoscopy last Wednesday revealed she has a hiatal hernia.  Charles Boger is doing well as he continues his recovery at home. His feeding tube will be removed soon. Harry Schrum is back at Cumberland Point after being hospitalized a few days last week  after breaking his nose and fracturing a vertebrae in his neck in a fall.  Pat Rice is to undergo surgery in the University of Virginia on June 11 to help correct her double vision.  Jocelyn Davis was to  consult with a specialist last Friday concerning a hernia. Harold Hudson is doing better following a visit to the emergency room a few days ago due to dehydration and a possible TIA.  Bill Daley’s spot on his lung is gone and there are no signs that his cancer has returned as they originally suspected.

Libby Gregory, Stacie Bearup’s mother, was admitted to Marietta Memorial Hospital last Tuesday with extremely high blood pressure. Grace Randolph, Matt’s grandmother, is in Wheeling Hospital, waiting for the installation of a pace maker.  Mike Tribbie who now worships with the St. Joe congregation underwent a heart catheterization last Tuesday and was scheduled for kidney surgery last Friday in Cleveland Clinic. Gina Marinnuci, an acquaintance of Lisa Gallagher, has been diagnosed as having a brain tumor.

Please continue praying for those for whom our prayers have been requested recently…Louis Bain (Kate’s husband), Tammy Baker & Mildred Donley (friend of Mary Donna Wodarcyk and her mother), Evelyn Barker, Holly Bine (Pat Rice’s brother, cancer), Frankie Carnes, (Amanda Schrum’s grandmother), Clyde Carpenter, Tamara Ernster (Sowinskis’ niece), Brian Games, Kevin Kalany, Deborah Lodge (Amber Hope’s stepmother), Vera Perry, Matthew Schrum (Brad’s brother), Peg Spielvogel, Jan Taylor (friend of the Games) and Jeff Wallace (Vera Perry’s son).

Let’s continue to pray for and encourage those who are unable to worship with us regularly any longer…Bill & Sue Daley, Mae Deller, Wilda Freeland, Dorothy Kimble, Virginia Orrison, Joyce Orzolek, Bill Richards, Leon & June Smith, Vonda Swisher, Jim & Pam Thrash, Marlene Trisolene, Joanne Wallner and Bill White.

Please continue praying for Tim & Lindsay McKeen as they anticipate the arrival of their daughter in July.

Our military personnel need our continued prayerful support…Nathan Rodak (Jay & Rhonda’s son) and  Joey Stenger (Joe & Karen’s son).   In September, Jason Harris, Bill & Pat Rice’s son-in-law, is to be deployed for his fifth tour in Afghanistan.

SYMPATHY

We extend our genuine sympathy to the family of Anna Witchey who passed from this life on May 12. Her funeral was last Wednesday in Bellaire.  Anna will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE

There will be a graveside service for Bob Adams , one of our former shepherds, this coming Thursday, May 31, at 1:30 at Holly Memorial Gardens.

 GRADUATES

The following High School Graduates from our church family will be honored during this morning’s worship service: Alex Cannon, Melanie Hannan and Emily Vickers who are graduating from St. Clairsville and Ashley Farber, Ashley Gaston, Dustin McMillan and Tyler Pinkston who are graduating from Union Local.

Justin Gallagher (Material Science & Engineering; Minor in Business), Jerry Hatcher (Agriculture) and his fiancée, Kelley Westervelt (Horticulture) will be graduating from OSU this spring.

Please notify the church’s office, if you know of any other students from our church family graduating from college or a technical school.

GRADUATION PARTIES

The McMillan family invites the church family to a Graduation Party in honor of Dustin’s graduation. It is to be held at the Beach Shelter at Barkcamp State Park, June 9, 1:00-8:00 p.m.

Ashley Gaston’s family will be hosting a Graduation Party for her on July 14, 1-4 p.m., at their house.

YOUTH THURSDAY NIGHT DEVOTIONAL

The summer Thursday Night Devotionals (TND’s) begin this coming Thursday at Jason & Angel Bakers’.  All of the devos are scheduled for 7-9 p.m.  A complete schedule of Youth Activities for the summer is on the bulletin board.

TEEN LOCK-IN

All the teens are invited to a Lock-in & Scavenger Hunt here at the church building this coming Friday night.  See Brad for details.

YOUTH ACTIVITY

All those in Grades 1-6 are invited to an afternoon of a variety of activities here at the church building from 1:00 to 3:00 next Sunday.  Contact Brad for more details.

MONTHLY FELLOWSHIP & BRIDAL SHOWER

In conjunction with our June Fellowship following next Sunday evening’s worship service, we will honor Leah Miller on her upcoming marriage to Brad Hannahs with a Money Tree.  If you would like to give any money to help the Tree “grow,”  please give it to Lisa Gallagher or Sally McDiffitt by this coming Wednesday evening.  Care Group B will be in charge of the Fellowship and C will be in charge of the Shower.

WEDNESDAY SUMMER ADULT SERIES

Our Summer Adult Bible Study Series on “The Portraits of Christ in John” will begin this coming Wednesday as Everett introduces the study with the lesson, “Jesus, The Son of God and Man.”  The schedule of teachers and topics for the entire summer is on the bulletin board.

MEN’S BREAKFAST

All the men and boys are invited to the Monthly Breakfast at Eat ‘N Park this coming Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

EDUCATIONAL MINISTRY

Our Summer Quarter Bible Classes begin next Sunday morning.  The students will not change classes; only the teachers will.

100th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

The family of Alice Riley, a long-time member of the Wheeling church, invites the St.C. church family to a Birthday Party in honor of her 100th Birthday on Saturday, June 9 (1-3 p.m.), in the Fellowship Hall of the Wheeling Congregation.
