PRAYER CONCERNS
Clyde Carpenter is in Wheeling Hospital recovering from last Monday’s successful open heart surgery. Charles Boger’s condition continues to remain stable. He remains in Wheeling Hospital. Brian Games continues to progress as he is walking with a walker and eating solid foods. Kevin Kalany’s recent tests determined the cancer had not returned. However, his thyroid is not functioning for which he is taking medication. Joyce Slatt will undergo an ultrasound this coming Wednesday. Brad Schrum will have surgery in the near future to repair some of the plates and screws which were put in place following last summer’s facial injury. Scott McDiffitt is to undergo tests for abnormal heart rhythms.
Sergio Vilano is recovering from another bout with pneumonia. Peg Spielvogel is weaning herself from her medication in preparation for surgery to surgically install a pain pump for her back. Judy Kinnemond, Mary Donna Wodarcyk’s daughter-in-law, had to begin a series of chemotherapy treatments again last week. Zach Roberts, the 5-month old great nephew of Harry & Edie Roberts will have to undergo open heart surgery to repair a hole in his heart. Jennifer Wheeler, Amy Nestor’s mother, was to undergo surgery last Thursday in Cleveland Clinic. Grace Randolph, Matt’s grandmother, continues to undergo physical therapy in Wheeling Hospital.
It was good to have Vera Perry back with us last Sunday morning as she continues to recover from recent hip surgery.
In last week’s bulletin, we announced that Joe Bine, Pat Rice’s brother, is battling cancer. We later learned it was her brother, Holly Bine, instead. Those for whom our prayers have been requested recently still need our prayers……Louis Bain (Kate’s husband), Evelyn Barker, Logan Cannon, Bunky Loy, and Joy Yontz.
Please continue to encourage our shut-ins…Bill & Sue Daley, Mae Deller, Wilda Freeland, Dorothy Kimble, Bill Kopyar, Virginia Orrison, Joyce Orzolek, Bill Richards, Alice Shunk, Leon & June Smith, Ed & Bea Stelmach, Vonda Swisher, Jim Thrash, Mike Tribbie, Marlene Trisolene, Joanne Wallner, Bill White and Anna Witchey.
Our military personnel need our continued prayers … Nathan Rodak (Jay & Rhonda’s son, Afghanistan) and Joey Stenger (Joe & Karen’s son, Afghanistan).
Let’s continue to pray for our expectant mothers…Ashley McKeen (a girl in March), Terra Blacker (a boy in April), Carrie Lucas (a girl in April), Amy Higgins (a boy in May) and Lindsay McKeen (a girl in July).
SYMPATHY
We were saddened to learn last week that Clyde Carpenter’s sister, Judy Coleman, experienced the loss of their 2 1/2 year old granddaughter in a tragic accident in Nashville, TN.
BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST
We rejoice with Kristen Bailey who was baptized into Christ last Monday. 283. Also, please add her Feb. 27th birthday to this month’s calendar. We welcome her to the family.
BENEFIT FOR BRIAN
If you would like to donate items for baskets to be sold by a silent auction during the benefit for Brian Games on March 10, please bring them by Wednesday, March 7, and place them in the basket on the table outside Brad’s office. The themes for the baskets are Crayola items, Teacher’s Supplies and Chocolates. If anyone would want to assemble and donate a basket on your own, that would also be appreciated. Contact Jodi Frye or Leslie Judge if you have any questions. Flyers for the Benefit are available on the table in the hallway.
Our series with Richard McGough of Hagerstown, MD, is only one month away—March 25-28. Postcards are available on the table in the foyer to help spread the word to our friends and neighbors.
COLLEGE CARE PACKAGES
This evening is the deadline for bringing the items for Care Packages for those of our church family who are presently serving in the military or attending college or a technical school. Please place them in the box on the table in the hallway.
MEN’S BREAKFAST
All of the men and boys are invited to eat breakfast together this coming Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at Eat ‘N Park.
MONTHLY FELLOWSHIP
Our monthly fellowship will be next Sunday evening following the evening worship service. Care Group B will be in charge of the arrangements.
FOREST HILLS
We are scheduled to lead the worship service for the residents at Forest Hills on Sunday, March 11 at 2:30 p.m.
TEACHERS’ APPRECIATION DINNER
If you are planning to attend the Teachers’ Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, March 15, at Mehlman’s at 6:00 p.m., please sign the list on the bulletin board in the foyer.
PETITION RE: ABORTION
The petition to place the question about abortion on the ballot in Ohio is still available on the table in the foyer. Be sure to follow the specific directions so your signature can be properly validated.
SHEPHERDS-DEACONS-PREACHERS MEETING
The shepherds, deacons and preachers meeting originally scheduled for today has been postponed until next Sunday at 4:30.
MINISTRY OF ENCOURAGEMENT
Teams 2,3&4 will lead our ministry of encouraging others for the next two weeks.
EDUCATION MINISTRY
Our Spring Quarter begins next Sunday, March 4. We still need teachers for our 2&3 year old class and our preschool class. If you are willing to help with this important ministry, please contact Sally McDiffitt or Angel Baker.
