PRAYER REQUESTS

Vonda Swisher remains hospitalized in Columbus on a ventilator and feeding tube as she recovers from a recent fall.    Ethel Kent is waiting for the results of last Wednesday’s biopsy. Susan Foy, Ethel’s daughter, is not doing very well as she battles cancer.

    Jennifer Jeffries, the Kopyars’ daughter, is in Wheeling Hospital  recovering from colon surgery. Cara Nicolan, the 22-year old daughter of one of Kim Clark’s co-workers, experienced internal injuries and possible brain damage in a recent car accident.  Her chances for survival are not good.  Heather Riesinger, Charlotte Patton’s niece, may possibly need plastic surgery following the removal of moles.

The following for whom our prayers have been requested continue to need our support…Charles Boger, Michael Coiner (Dot Nice’s nephew, brain cancer), Brian Games, Clara Helms, Nancy Hendershot (wife of Kay Sowinski’s cousin),  Judy Kinemond  (Mary Donna Wodarcyk’s daughter-in-law, cancer), Esther Koerber (Cindy Goff’s mother), Steve Lattocha,  Paul Moore (Brenda Sponhaltz’s brother-in-law), Charlotte Mason (Mae Deller’s daughter, cancer),  Robert Lee Rodak (Bill’s brother), Missy Roux (former co-worker of Janet Lallathin), Jane Simons (friend of Sam Miller), Peg Spielvogel, Frank Sponhaltz, Mike & Pam Tribbie,  Sue Wirsing and Mary Donna Wodarcyk.

   Leslie and Jamie Judge along with Camden are anticipating a new addition in December.

Those who are no longer able to worship with us regularly need our continued prayers and encouragement…Evelyn Barker, Bill & Sue Daley, Mae Deller, Wilda Freeland, Bill Kopyar, Joyce Orzolek, Harry Schrum, Alice Shunk, Leon & June Smith, Jim  Thrash, Marlene Trisolene,, Joanne Wallner and Bill White.

PRAYERS FOR OUR MILITARY PERSONNEL

Let’s continue praying for the safety of those of our church family and extended church family who are serving in the military…Jason Harris (Bill & Pat Rice’s son-in-law), Bill Randolph (Matt’s father, in Afghanistan), Nathan Rodak (Jay & Rhonda’s son) and  Joey Stenger (Joe & Karen’s son).

SYMPATHY

We extend our genuine sympathy to Ted Huntsman in last Monday’s death of his aunt and our sister in Christ, Lucille Huntsman. Her funeral was Friday in Barnesville.

MONTHLY FELLOWSHIP

Everyone is invited to stay after services this evening for our Monthly Fellowship and for the Bridal Shower to honor Aaron & Morgan Baker who were married on Sept. 22.  Care Group A will be in charge of the Shower and Care Group C will be in charge of preparing for and cleaning up after the Fellowship. The meat will be provided.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

There will be a brief but important congregational meeting following this evening’s worship service.

SHEPHERDS-DEACONS-PREACHERS MEETING

Our shepherds, deacons and preachers will meet in Room 14 this afternoon at 4:30 for their bi-monthly meeting.  All the deacons are requested to bring their proposed 2013 budgets for their area of ministry to the meeting if they have not already submitted them.

OUT OF THE OFFICE

Everett will be taking a few days away from the office this week for a vacation.  He is planning to return to the office on Monday, Oct. 22.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY

Due to “Trick-or-Treat” night in St. Clairsville being scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 31, we will meet on Tuesday of that week for our mid-week Bible Study to avoid the children who will be out on the streets for Trick-or-Treating.

YOUTH RETREAT

All Those in Grade 7 through College Age are invited to the annual St.C. Youth Retreat at Grand Vue Park near Moundsville the weekend of Nov. 8-10.  Contact Brad  Schrum for details, if you are interested in participating.

YOUNG ADULTS’ CLASS

The Young Adults’ Class which has not met for about a year will be resumed with the start of the  December Quarter with Brian Games teaching on Sunday mornings and Jay Rodak on Wednesday evenings.

SEWING MACHINE NEEDED

    Rich & Julie Daley invite everyone to their 2nd Annual 4wheeler Covered-Dish, Bonfire & Hayride this coming Saturday. (See the notice on the bulletin board for more details.)

HELPING HOSPICE

If you are interested in helping with the hosting of Valley Hospice’s “Light Up A Life” tree at the Ohio Valley Mall sometime during Dec. 1-Dec. 9, please contact Everett by this coming Wednesday.

WV CHRISTIAN YOUTH CAMP

If you would like financially to help support the WV Christian Youth Camp near Pennsboro, WV,  Hunter Huffman has acapella CD’s available. (Donaton: $15.00).

GLEANER CANS

Only 3 weeks remain for us to fill the cans with coins and paper money to help with the support of the children who live at Potter Children’s Home in Bowling Green, KY.  The deadline is Nov. 4.

    What duties do Christian citizens have to their governments?  “Christian Citizens” will be the topic in next week’s broadcast. The program can be viewed  Sundays at 7:30 a.m. on WTRF-TV, Ch. 7.
