 PRAYER REQUESTS

Pearl Roy was hospitalized last week in EORH for pneumonia and treatment of an infection in her lungs. Wilda Freeland has improved and was able to return home from the hospital last weekend. Jeff Bigler is doing well as he recovers at home from recent back surgery.  Logan Cannon was to consult with a rheumatologist in Pittsburgh last week. Nancy Hudson is improving after having surgery on her broken wrist.  Darlene Straub broke her ankle a couple of weeks ago and will be off work for several weeks. Sally McDiffitt has recovered from pleurisy.

Louis Bain, Kate’s husband, is to consult with his doctor this coming Tuesday regarding surgery to remove additional cancer from his arm. Jennifer Wheeler, Amy Nestor’s mother, is now at home recovering from sinus reconstruction surgery. Kaylin Stafford, an acquaintance of the Sowinskis, is in Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus recovering from additional surgery following her initial brain surgery in December.

We need to continue praying for those for whom our prayers have been requested recently … Sue Beisel, Clyde Carpenter, Alicia Estadt, Faith Hilton (Bunky Loy’s granddaughter), Judy Kinemond  (Mary Donna Wodarcyk’s daughter-in-law, cancer), Kevin Kalany, Charlotte Mason (Mae Deller’s daughter, cancer), Val Roxby, Peg Spielvogel,  Sue Wirsing and Jerry Yost  (preacher for the Duffy congregation in Acuity in Belmont Community Hospital).

SHUT-INS

Those who not able to worship with us regularly need our continued prayers and encouragement…Evelyn Barker, Bill & Sue Daley, Mae Deller, Bill Kopyar, Joyce Orzolek, Harry Schrum, Alice Shunk, Leon & June Smith, Jim  Thrash, Marlene Trisolene and Joanne Wallner.

SERVING IN THE MILITARY

Let’s continue our prayers for those serving in the military from our church family and extended church family…Jason Harris (Bill & Pat Rice’s son-in-law), Bill Randolph (Matt’s father),  Nathan Rodak (Jay & Rhonda’s son) and Joey Stenger (Joe & Karen’s son).

SYMPATHY

We extend our deepest sympathy to Dorothy Nice in the death of her sister-in-law, Nellie Wagner, after an extended illness.

Our deepest sympathy is also extended to Joe Stenger in last Monday’s death of his mother, Florence Stenger.

BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST

We rejoice with Ed Hirauk, Donna’s husband, who was baptized into Christ last Tuesday evening.

INFANT BOYS CLOTHING NEEDED

Carol Kovachic has made us aware of a young woman who will be having a baby boy on Feb. 8.  Recently all of the clothes and many of the other items she had been buying for the baby were stolen.  If you would like to help by donating new or used outfits, please bring them and put them on the table across from Everett’s office by Feb. 3.

CLOTHING FOR FAMILY

We are collecting clothes for a family who lost all of their possessions in a fire early last week.  The sizes are on the bulletin board and on a list on the table in the foyer.

MONEY-TREE

Money is being collected for a “Money-Tree” as a way of  honoring our newlyweds, Jena (Ehni) & Ben Frye.  If you would like to contribute to the tree’s growth, give your money to Linda Gooch or Nancy Miller by Wednesday, Jan. 30.  Jena & Ben will be honored during our Monthly Fellowship on Feb. 3.

VALENTINE BASKETS FOR SHUT-INS

Again this year, we are collecting items for Valentine Bags for our shut-ins.  If you would like to help, please sign the list on the bulletin beside the items you would like to donate and bring the items by Sunday, Feb. 10.

MOVED TO FLORIDA

Bill & Joan Rodak left last Tuesday to live in Florida.  They will return in late February to move their belongings. Their plans are to return to Ohio for a couple months each summer.

TEACHER RESOURCE MATERIALS AVAILABLE

Due to overcrowding in the Teacher’s Resource Room, we are trying to “thin out” some of the items  which aren’t being used.  If you would be able to use any of the items, they will be available “for the taking” outside Room 12 for the next week. After that, they will be discarded.

COLLEGE CARE PACKAGES

We are again collecting items for Care Packages for those of our church family who are in college, a technical school or the military.  If you would like to include some items in the packages, please place them in the box on the table in the hallway.

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY

Someone has called this the “whatever” generation that seems undisturbed about anything. In next week’s presentation, “Whatever,” Phil Sanders will look at how we may ignore God, but not for long.  The program can be seen every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. on WTRF-TV, Ch. 7.

WAYS TO MINISTER TO OTHERS

Your old eyeglasses (especially ones for reading) are needed for various mission points.

We are still collecting cartridges from Inkjets and Faxes to help with the support of the children who reside at the Shulz-Lewis Children’s Home in Valparaiso, Indiana.

We are continuing to collect the fronts of used greeting cards.  (No Christmas Cards, please.)

“Box Tops for Education” and “Campbell’s Labels for Education” are needed by Mid-Western Children’s Home.

Please bring items you would like to donate and place them in the appropriate containers on the table in the hallway.
