 PRAYER REQUESTS

Jeff Bigler is recovering at home from last Monday’s back surgery during which his spine was fused.  Nancy Hudson was hospitalized a few days last week after having a plate and pins inserted in her broken wrist on Tuesday. Sally McDiffitt is at home slowly recovering from pleurisy. Wilda Freeland remains in Wheeling Hospital where she continues to undergo physical therapy. Alicia Estadt is trying to deal with several health issues. Marlene Trisolene is back at Sienna Point after being hospitalized last week with 7 broken ribs which she experienced in a fall out of her bed.

Jennifer Wheeler, Amy Nestor’s mother, underwent sinus reconstruction surgery last Thursday in Columbus.   Florence Stenger, Joe’s mother, is in a weakened condition at home.  Louis Bain, Kate’s husband, is to have some skin cancers removed from his arm.    Mike Trabert, a friend of Everett & Judy Hutson’s, is slowly recovering at home after a lengthy hospitalization with complications related to a mine accident.

It was great having Eleanor Palimetakis and Mary Zink back with us last Sunday following recent illnesses and surgeries.

We need to continue praying for those for whom our prayers have been requested recently … Sue Beisel, Clyde Carpenter, Faith Hilton (Bunky Loy’s granddaughter), Kelly Hupp and her family,  Judy Kinemond  (Mary Donna Wodarcyk’s daughter-in-law, cancer), Kevin Kalany, Jackie Martz (friend of Donna Hirauk), Charlotte Mason (Mae Deller’s daughter, cancer), Barbara Mowder, Pearl Roy, Val Roxby, Peg Spielvogel, Sue Wirsing and, Jerry Yost  (preacher for the Duffy congregation in Acuity in Belmont Community Hospital).

SHUT-INS

Let’s continue to encourage those who are not able to worship with us regularly any longer…Evelyn Barker, Bill & Sue Daley, Mae Deller, Bill Kopyar, Joyce Orzolek, Harry Schrum, Alice Shunk, Leon & June Smith, Jim  Thrash, Marlene Trisolene and Joanne Wallner.

SERVING IN THE MILITARY

Our prayers continue for those of our church family and extended church family who are serving in the military…Jason Harris (Bill & Pat Rice’s son-in-law), Bill Randolph (Matt’s father),  Nathan Rodak (Jay & Rhonda’s son) and Joey Stenger (Joe & Karen’s son).

MINISTRY OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Teams 4 & 5 will lead our Ministry of Encouragement for the next two weeks.

SYMPATHY

We express our deepest sympathy to Cindy Goff in the Jan. 4th death of her mother and our sister-in-Christ, Esther Koerber.  Her funeral was last Monday in Barnesville.

PUBLIC RESPONSES

Last Sunday evening, Eddie Arnold responded to the invitation to apologize for getting sidetracked from serving Christ.

Amy Gray also responded to request our prayers for her sister, Judy Davis, who is now under Hospice Care at home.

INFANT BOYS CLOTHING NEEDED

Carol Kovachic has made us aware of a young woman who will be having a baby boy on Feb. 8.  Recently all of the clothes and many of the other items she had been buying for the baby were stolen.  If you would like to help by donating new or used outfits, please bring them and put them on the table across from Everett’s office by Feb. 3.

VBS MEETING

Anyone who is interested in providing input into making our Vacation Bible Schools more effective is invited to meet in the MP Room today at 4:30 as we begin to make plans for this summer’s VBS — August 5-9.

MONEY-TREE

To honor the newlyweds, Jena (Ehni) & Ben Frye, money for a money tree is being collected.  If you would like to contribute to its growth, give your money to Skip or Linda Gooch by Wednesday, Jan. 30.  Jena & Ben will be honored during our Monthly Fellowship on Feb. 3.

TEACHER RESOURCE MATERIALS AVAILABLE

Due to overcrowding in the Teacher’s Resource Room, we are trying to “thin out” some of the items  which aren’t being used.  If you would be able to use any of the items, they will be available “for the taking” outside Room 12 for the next week. After that, they will be discarded.

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY

“We walk by faith and not by sight” (2 Cor. 5:7). We want to do more than look at life from a human perspective; we want to live with God’s revealed will in our hearts. God helps us see more than with our eyes. In next week’s sermon, “Walking By Faith,” Phil Sanders will examine how we can deepen our faith.  The nationally televised program can be viewed locally every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. on WTRF-TV, Ch. 7.

WAYS TO MINISTER TO OTHERS

Your old eyeglasses (especially ones for reading) are needed for various mission points.

We are still collecting cartridges from Inkjets and Faxes to help with the support of the children who reside at the Shulz-Lewis Children’s Home in Valparaiso, Indiana.

“Box Tops for Education” and “Campbell’s Labels for Education” are needed by Mid-Western Children’s Home.

We are continuing to collect the fronts of used greeting cards.  (No Christmas Cards, please.)

If you want to help with any of these ongoing ministries, please bring the items and place them in the appropriate containers on the table in the hallway.
