Nelson Gaston, Mike’s father, is now home after being hospitalized last week with several health problems.   Charlotte Mason, Mae Deller’s daughter, has been diagnosed with a return of her cancer.  Mike Tribbie’s kidney surgery revealed no cancer.

NEW BROTHER IN CHRIST

We rejoice with Greg Nestor, Amy’s husband, who was baptized into Christ last Tuesday evening.  We welcome him to the church family.

    YOUTH THURSDAY NIGHT DEVOTIONAL

Due to Brad and several of our youth participating in the Mid-Ohio Valley Workcamp in Parkersburg this coming week, there will be no Thursday Night Devotional.  Instead, there will be a bonfire on the church’s Reservoir Road property on Friday evening.  A complete schedule of Youth Activities for the summer is on the bulletin board.

CONGRATULATIONS

We congratulate Becky Bigler on being united in marriage with Kevin Inman yesterday in Wheeling.   If you would like to donate toward a “Money-Tree” for the newlyweds, give your cash to Amy Games or Pam Moore by June 27.  Becky & Kevin will be honored during our monthly fellowship on July 1.

WEDNESDAY SUMMER ADULT SERIES

Our men have been presenting some excellent lessons so far this summer as we look at “The Portraits of Christ in John” in the Wednesday Adult Class.  This Wednesday, Joe Stenger will lead the class in a study of “Jesus, The Intercessor” using John 17 as his text.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

We are excited about this summer’s VBS whose theme is “Daniel, A Man of Determination.”  It will be held Aug. 6-10; 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Again this year, there will be a class for the adults taught by various preachers from the area.

SHEPHERDS-DEACONS-PREACHERS MEETING

The shepherds, deacons and preachers will meet next Sunday, June 24, at 4:30 p.m. in the MP Room.

QUARTERLY CONGRGATIONAL MEETING

There will be a congregational meeting following an abbreviated worship service next Sunday evening.

MINISTRY OF ENCOURAGEMENT

GRADUATION PARTY

Ashley Gaston’s family will be hosting a Graduation Party for her on July 14, 1-4 p.m., at their house.

HOMECOMING 2012

Mark your calendars for Oct. 7 of this year for our Homecoming.  Brad Poe, our first Youth Minister, will be our guest speaker.

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY

How do we determine the truth? Some are unwilling to hold to their convictions because some “good people” believe otherwise, but in our efforts to be humble we must not ignore God’s truth.  In next week’s lesson, “Good People,” Phil Sanders will take a closer look at how we determine truth.  The program can be seen every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. on WTRF-TV, Ch. 7.

WAYS TO MINISTER TO OTHERS

Your old eyeglasses (especially ones for reading) are needed for various mission points.

We are still collecting cartridges from Inkjets and Faxes to help with the support of the children who reside at the Shulz-Lewis Children’s Home.

We are continuing to collect the fronts of used greeting cards.  (No Christmas Cards, please.)

“Box Tops for Education” and “Campbell’s Labels for Education” are needed by Mid-Western Children’s Home. Only the UPC label is necessary.  To save time and shipping expense, please cut the label out before placing them in the box in the hallway.

If you want to help with any of these ongoing ministries, please bring the items and place them in the appropriate containers on the table in the hallway.
