MINISTRY OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Everyone needs encouragement and that is the reason the Ministry of Encouragement was formed several years ago.  We’re always looking for people to help with this essential ministry.  If you would like to get involved in encouraging others through this vital ministry, please let Everett know and he can tell you how.

THANKSGIVING DEVOTIONAL

As we have done the past several years, we will devote our time together on the Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving (Nov. 23) to a time of praising and thanking God for how He has worked and continues to work in our lives as individuals and as a church family.  There will be no individual classes that evening.  Instead, everyone will meet in the auditorium for a time of giving thanks.

 COMMUNION SIGH-UP LIST FOR 2012

We still need someone to sign up to prepare the Lord’s Supper for next July.  If you are willing to help, please sign the list on the bulletin board.

GLEANER CANS

If you have been collecting money in one of the coin cans for the children at Potter Children’s Home over the past few months, please remember to return them to the box in the hallway by this evening so their representative can pick them up this week.  If you have not been saving your money in one of the coin cans and would still like to help, give your cash or check to Everett by this evening.  (Please make checks payable to “Potter Children’s Home.”)

FOOD & DIAPERS

A young mother with children, ages 1 & 3 and expecting another one at the end of this month needs food and diapers.  If you can help, please bring the items and place them on the table in the hallway by Nov. 20.

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY

When Jesus came to earth, He chose to bear the cross. We want to please the Lord, and we can only do this by taking up our cross.   Next week’s sermon, “Take Up Your Cross,” explores what it means to take up a cross and follow Jesus. The nationally televised program can be seen locally every Sunday on WTRF-TV, Ch. 7, at 7:30 a.m.
