WEDNESDAY ADULT CLASS

We are quickly coming to an end of what has been a great summer series in the Adult Class on Wednesday evenings.  This coming Wednesday, Joe Stenger will lead the class in a discussion of one more of Jesus’ “Hard Sayings And Neglected Commands” as he discusses the topic “Don’t Seek Personal Fairness” based on Matthew 5: 38-42.

WORSHIP AT RESERVOIR ROAD

Because of the rain last Sunday night, we postponed our outdoor worship service, and so this evening we are planning to meet again at our Reservoir Road property to worship together. A wiener roast will follow the service.  In the event of rain, we will meet at the church building.

IDENTIFIED WITH CHURCH FAMILY

Last Sunday morning, it was announced that Tim McKeen, Lindsay’s husband, would like to identify with our church family and to work under the oversight of our shepherds.  He has been worshipping with us for some time now.  We are so happy to have him as a part of our church family.

PRAYERS REQUESTED

Last Sunday morning, a letter was read from Paul Huffman asking for our prayers for some personal struggles he is presently enduring

That evening, Kay Sowinski publicly responded to the invitation requesting our prayers for some difficulties her family is experiencing.

Our prayers are with both Paul & Kay that they will accept the Lord’s guidance in dealing with their individual difficulties and that they will enjoy the peace He alone offers.

BAPTIZED

After much prayer and deliberation regarding her being baptized in her youth, Sue Wirsing decided to be baptized again last Monday.  We rejoice with Sue and pray that she will have a long and productive life in serving the Lord.

MINISTRY OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Teams 2,4&5 will lead our Ministry of Encouragement for the next two weeks.

PICTORIAL DIRECTORY

Today is the deadline for being photographed for our new Church Family Directory.    Please see Brad Schrum or Kay Sowinski today if you have not yet been photographed.

TEACHING MATERIAL

Teaching material for Fall Quarter is available on the table outside Brad’s office.

COINS FOR CHILDREN

Each year for the past several years, we have been saving our loose change to help with the support of the children who reside at Potter’s Children Home in Bowling Green, KY.  If you would like to help again this year, take one of the cans available on the table in the hallway and begin saving your change in it.  The deadline for returning the cans will be Nov. 10.

FREE BOOKS

There are several books—mostly children’s books—on the table in the back hallway. If you or someone you know can use them, please help yourself.

NORTH HILLS YOUTH RALLY

All teens in grades 7-12 are invited to the North Hills Youth Rally, at the North Hills Church of Christ in the Pittsburgh area, September 27-28th. We will also need chaperones and drivers. If you are interesting in participating or are willing to chaperone, please see Brad for more information.

IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY

In next week’s lesson, “A Better Person”, Phil Sanders will discuss how we need to become the salt and the light God intended us to be.  We can make our world a better place by making ourselves better people who love the Lord and live according to His teaching.    The televised program can be seen locally every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. on WTRF-TV, Ch. 7.
